The Siege of Kytheria

Monday 20th October, marked the fourth anniversary of the founding of Wrexhammer Gaming Club. As has become tradition, we celebrated the occasion with a mighty game of Warhammer 40k Apocalypse and birthday cake!

Kytheria, a storm-wracked world in the Segmentum Tempestus, is prized by the Imperium for its ancient geo-arcane forges that refine rare isotopes vital to plasma weaponry and voidship reactors. When a warp rift unleashed daemonic hordes upon the planet, the Kytherian 34th Imperial Guard Regiment held the line until the Aurora Chapter arrived to banish the fiends.

But their salvation turned to tragedy. Inquisitor Verax Thale of the Ordo Hereticus accused the weary Guardsmen of heresy after their Commissar’s scornful words about the Imperium’s delayed aid. Declaring them corrupted, he ordered their execution. As the purges began, new warp storms drew Chaos warbands and Xenos raiders to Kytheria. Amid the slaughter, surviving Guardsmen of the 34th emerged from hiding, striking out at Inquisition and Astartes alike. Kytheria descended into madness a once-loyal world now consumed by distrust, fire, and endless war. In the gallery below you can find a selection of photos from the evening's mayhem.
